About twenty-five years ago, an engineer stood before a barren land in Sigri, Lesvos, with a single ambition: to prove that even the most infertile place can become a paradise. Today, that land is two thousand stremmata of living olive grove — and the living proof that hope is not naivety, but the result of persistent work.
